{I'm a wibbly wobbly girl}

Friday, November 23, 2012

Whoa buddy. It's been a while! I need to get back in the swing of things.

So, this post, I'm really bored, so I am going to tell you things about me that I would normally be embarrassed about. But tonight I am not.

So listen well, because this is the only post you're gonna get with me going all out.

Ladies and gentlemen, this is Kayla Higgins on the Secrets Of Being a Geek.

that would be correct.

yes, I am a HUGE fan of Dr. Who
otherwise known as the Doctor
This happened only a couple of weeks ago. Maybe it was all the Pinterest pins on him that got me curious. I don't know. But what I do know is that I love this man, David Tennant, and I love the show.
I have my mom and sister come out and say just how weird I am and how weird the show is. But I don't care. I just know that this show is one of the best things ever! And I'm a lover. I'm still learning new things from this show, so I'm not exactly a fan girl-knowitall person, but just give me a few more weeks, and don't be surprised if i walk into school with red converse sneakers and a bow tie.

hpcupcakes1These are some facts that J.K.Rowling let slip in numerous interviews. Facts that tell us what all happened nineteen years later… ~ Azkaban no longer uses Dementors as guardians. ~George Weasley married Angelina Johnson and had 2 children named Fred and Roxanne. ~Harry made sure that the Wizarding world knew that Snape was a hero and on Dumbledore’s side. ~Slytherin House became more diluted and was no longer solely pureblood; however its dark reputation lingers. ~Harry lost the ability to speak Parseltongue. ~Umbridge was arrested, interrogated and imprisoned for crimes against Muggleborns. ~The Resurrection Stone is now buried in the Forbidden Forest after being pressed into the ground by a centaur’s hoof. ~ Voldemort’s curse on the DADA position at Hogwarts has been lifted. ~Viktor Krum fell in love with a woman back home in Bulgaria. ~The Death Eater’s Dark Marks eventually faded to look like a scar. It will no longer burn or hurt. ~ The Quibbler is back to publishing articles about the lunatic fringe & is appreciated for its unintentional humour. ~Members of the DA still have their coins, as they are like badges of honor. ~Neville Longbottom worked as an Auror before moving on as the Herbology professor at Hogwarts. ~The remaining Death Eaters were killed or imprisoned in Azkaban for their crimes, with the exception of the Malfoys. ~Luna Lovegood married the grandson of the Newt Scamander, author of ‘Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them’ ~Firenze survived his wounds and was welcomed back into the Centaur herd. ~Harry will never become Headmaster of Hogwarts since an academic career just isn’t him. ~Hagrid was still working at Hogwarts by 2017, at 88 years old. ~Draco Malfoy really cares about his son, Scorpius Malfoy. He is growing him up to be a better person than he was. ~Centaurs realized that “pro-human leanings were not shameful. ~Draco and Harry never became friends, but they did come to understand and appreciate each other better. ~Hermione tells Scrimgeour that she is not planning to embark on a career in Magical Law. Ironically, that’s where she ends up. ~After his death, Voldemort is forced to exist in the stunted infant-like form that Harry sees in the King’s Cross-like Limbo. ~Harry would take his family to visit Dudley’s when they were in the neighbourhood (occasions dreaded by James, Albus and Lily). ~Aberforth is still at the Hog’s Head “playing with his goats”. ~The number of Dementors have been greatly diminished because despair and degradation have been lessened in the world. ~Arthur Weasley fixed Sirius’ motorbike and gave it to Harry. ~Nineteen years after the Battle of Hogwarts, the school for witchcraft and wizardry is led by an entirely new headmaster (“McGonagall was really getting on a bit”) as well as a new Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher. That position is now as safe as the other teaching posts at Hogwarts, since Voldemort’s death broke the jinx that kept a Defense Against the Dark Arts professor from remaining for more than a year. ~Hagrid never married, although he had a relationship with a giantess. ~Kingsley Shacklebolt became the Minister of Magic after the Second Wizarding War. ~Harry will not train to be an animagus; his “energies are going to be concentrated elsewhere and he’s not going to have time to do that. ~Audrey Weasley is wife of Percy Weasley, and they both have 2 daughters, Molly and Lucy. ~In the aftermath of the war, the Order was disbanded once and for all. ~Luna has twin boys named Lorcan and Lysander with Rolf Scamander.and apparently travels the world, looking for mad creatures. ~Hermione advanced the rights of magical creatures & eradicated the old pro-pure-blood laws in the Department of Magical Law Enforcement. ~The head of the Auror Office as of 2007 is Harry Potter. ~Lavender Brown was attacked by Fenrir Greyback. Hermione saved her but she was already injured. What happened to her later on was never really told. ~Neville Longbottom’s students were impressed when he showed them his Dumbledore’s Army’s Coin. ~Harry, Ron and Neville didn’t return to Hogwarts for their 7th year. They went straight to get training as aurors and Neville went to work as an auror before becoming a Professor. ~Harry sometimes visits Hogwarts to give talks on DADA. ~Hermione is James’ godmother. ~Hermione Granger was the only member of the trio who returned to Hogwarts to complete their seventh year. ~Ron worked with George in WWW for some time and then became an Auror. ~Ginny became a professional Quidditch player for the Holyhead Harpies and become the senior Quidditch correspondent for the Daily Prophet. ~After the war, Hermione found her parents in Australia and restored their memories.

I LOVE Harry Potter.

I've loved it ever since I've seen the first movie when I was, what, 5 or 6? It was the greatest thing ever, and I've seen every movie since. My favorite book is by far the last one, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. I love the characters, plots, actors, movies, I LOVE IT ALL!! I'll quote it frequently, but honestly, nobody gets it.
Whatever. I still love it.

This is my reaction just waiting for tickets to go on sale.

Yes. I love this even more than Harry Potter.
Because not only me, but my family is fanatically in love with this movie.
We love it so much in fact, that we watch the extended edition of each movie EVERY SINGLE YEAR. and we never get bored. In fact, we just finished it last week. And it still ended amazingly. And I still cried. But can I just say how happy i was when I found out that they were making a Hobbit? And can I tell you how FREAKING EXCITED I AM THAT THE HOBBIT IS COMING OUT NEXT MONTH?!?!?!?!?
yes. I am very excited.
I love this movie and the books so much, that I can quote the entire movies. Each one. So burn.
#CaptainAmerica
JUSTICE LEAGUE And THE AVENGERS 2 To Face Off In 2015

#Avengers!!!!
Okay here is another one of my loves. I love superheros. I really do. I love DC and Marvel comic heroes. I love Avengers and The Justice League. They both melt me to the core. DC- I am an avid lover of Superman. Marvel- I love Captain America. Sing it with me ladies! They are just two of the best men in the world. Ever since I was a little kid, I imagined myself as a super hero. Wonder Woman, Supergirl, Catwoman (not exactly a super hero, but whatever). I loved to pretend that I had supernatural powers! They kept my childhood years an adventure.

And last of all, I love video games. I mean, I like way super cool video games. I'm not into the whole guns and guts games, but sometimes, there are just some games that I love, like Mario Bros or Mariokart, or other games.
But there is one game that I am obsessed with, and I love it.

Legend of Zelda

That's right.
I'm a Legend of Zelda nerd.
Get over it.
Or join me.
This is the one thing that kind of embarrasses me, because I feel like nobody I know has played this game. And anybody that does know this game says it's stupid.
But I don't.
And if you say that it does, I'll probably go all quiet, but in my head I'll be all like,"I will take my Master Sword and I will cut you."
The end.

So now you know a little more about me.
And what I like.
And what I am totally obsessed about.
I'm also obsessed with Disney, Big Bang Theory, Nancy Drew games, and Once Upon a Time.
If you ever feel like you need to talk to me about these things, I will gladly be open to discussion.
Unless you're coming to mock me.
Then go away.

OR HERE'S A CHALLENGE!!!!!!!!
post on your blog or tell me things you are obsessed about and wouldn't normally tell others.
Its loads of fun,
and it would make me feel better.

Watch.
Stop.
Drop.
The heart that was once at the top of my chest plummets to the bottom of my stomach.
Empty is the right word to use, my heart.
It sits on the top of my intestines with no life, like an empty glass jar.
There's nothing in it. Not at this moment. There's no feeling.
It's as if ice had settled in and frozen the heart, causing it to go numb.
All I can do is stare- wide eyed, and no expression. I can't believe it. Never had it crossed my mind. It didn't make sense. What was that? My mind scrambles to find any logic, but that too has fled. Its just me and an empty body staring at the computer monitor.
I feel as though my vision is fading, like a black hole is starting to form at the point where my eyes are looking, but something catches my attention.
I look down at my chest, just staring, because I can feel something. If I could listen carefully, I could hear the small sounds of *click, click*. It scared me. I put all my focus on where the sound was coming from, and then it made sense.
It was that glass jar in my chest.
It was cracking.
I could feel it as the veins of the cracks wound their way up to the top of the jar, creating jagged lines and cruel features.
Then, slowly, the jar began to fall apart. The shards that had once made a beautiful jar were falling away from each other  and there was nothing that could be done. Nothing could repair it. And all I could do was switch my gaze from my cracking, aching chest, and look back at the pictures.
With each click of the mouse to the next picture of him with her, a jagged piece of the jar crumbled.
What cruel and sick sort of person would do this? Why would someone want to put this much pain on a person? Why am I even caring? This shouldn't be affecting me, but why is it?
But these questions would come later, because for now, I was in pain as the tears slowly caressed down my cheeks.

Oh the tricky heart. Always getting in the way. Your brain, always the experienced one, tries to explain to your punk of a heart to stay away from the dark alleys of "feeeelings". Your brain knows the better, and it's trying to keep your heart from getting hurt or broken. And every time the heart comes home from parties and is drunk with happiness, the brain knows whats going to happen. Of course, even though the heart had a little fun for a while, and that it wanted to make the intoxicated feeling of love stay, there is always the hangover, and the puking, and the awful retching of and coughing of hate and regret. And all this while, the brain keeps telling the heart that it knew better, that it told it not to; but the brain rubs the hearts back and tries to make the heart feel better, and later, it will feel better, thanks to that wise brain.

People think that the heart is the one that has feelings, but the brain does too. It feels sorry and compassion for you, and it's always logging into a notebook of all the stupid things you do so that it can help you remember the consequences of what happened last time. And this is why the brain would make so much of a better heart for me.

How weird to think that I've grown up so much . Its actually a little cool.

I love to think about all the memories that I have. I, personally, have a pretty good memory when it comes to things that I liked or life memories. Unfortunately, I have the hardest time remembering things for tests. Weird.
But its funny to see myself ten years ago. Sometimes, I wish I could go back to my innocent state, when I was forced to take naps and was given snacks and I had to eat my dinner. I wish I could go back where we could pretend to be adults and that we could play with whomever because it didn't matter. I wish this, but it can't happen, because reality has a way of making evolution real, and that sometime or another, you have to grow up.

So on Friday, I got a text in my ceramics class, but since my hands had clay all over them, I couldn't get my phone out immediately. Not even three seconds later, I get another text, and right after that I get ANOTHER one! By this time I'm freaking out and thinking that someone had died or something, so I try wiping my dirty hands on my apron and pull out my phone. All texts are from family members, and now I'm really freaking out! But it turns out that two of my sisters wanted to know if I wanted to join them with going to the Utah State Fair with them, and my mom just wished me luck on my test in the next period.

So of course I went to the fair, and it was so much fun!

my sister gave my nephew some containers with her medicines. He shook it around and was really happy!

they had a whole barn dedicated to just pigeons.
....only in Utah...
once you've seen one, you've seen them all...

an ugly pigeon...random!

my nephew Ethan was so cute while we looked at the animals
But he didn't like the cows that much. I don't blame him! They kindof freak me out too.

 Wilbur!
 people are so creative!
my future prom date duct tape dress. Challenge accepted!!
There was even a small circus act there! The guy who was performing was really good!

I don't want it to effect me. I don't want to seem angry or mean. But let me tell you, I feel as though I've been tricked. Actually, this is the second time I've been tricked. And I hate it. Most of the time I wish he would just go away, or that I could wipe my memory clean of him. I hate going throughout my day happy, and then a thought of him pops in my head. It makes my heart squeeze tight and hurt. It makes me cringe. Because I know I've been fooled once again. When he said hi to me in the halls, my mind said, " maybe." But, after looking at things, there has been someone else. Not me. And that was the real crusher, because she looks like a nice girl who is beautiful. I wish I could be like, "oh wow! She looks like a playa!" or "no, not that girl." I hate her, but there's nothing wrong. So I just look as my heart tenses, and drops, and it feels like it will be that way for a while.
But I still have the greatest friends. And they make me smile. And that's what I like, so it will just have to do for a while.

Oh school.
I wish you'd be over and done with.
and it's only the 3rd week of school...

....it feels like it's been years.

I've been closing my eyes in my classes lately.
This is not a good sign.
Because this means it's going to be a very
very
very
long
year.

:S
