{to you}

To all the girls with tears,
to the ones who hate,
to the ones that regret,

to the girls that cry because it hurts,
to the ones that have been broken,
the the ones that have been bruised,
to the ones who have broken trust,

to the girls with a sadness that can be unbearable,
to the ones that have experienced heartbreak at too young an age,
to the ones that should have never been hurt.

I'm deeply sorry.
You're not alone.
And you are still loved.

If you need to talk to someone,
I would love to sit and talk to you,
whomever you are.

Have a good Valentine's Day.

Lately, I have felt really stressed:
class registration,
college decisions,
future occupation disasters,
and scads of other things
mainly on the subject of who I am and what I want to become.

But on Sunday, Heavenly Father helped me realize that He's still there.
I never have to walk alone in the fog.
He's always holding my hand.
Even though I don't have a clear pathway, at least he gave me a flashlight so I can see where I can walk.
And He gave me a tissue and a reassuring hug letting me know He still loves me.
It really meant a lot.

Sometimes I forget that there is sky.
I just focus on the fog.
I freak out, and I'm looking side to side, but I'm clueless of where I'm going.
It's only when I look up that I realize that the sky is still there.
That brilliant blue sky.
And I put my faith that even though there can be a temporary fog,
there's still a brilliant blue sky, full of beauty, peace, and goodness.
And then I think to myself.....

what a wonderful world.

{nightmare in real life}

Last night, I had a dream it was summer.
And I was running through a lush, green field with no shoes and a shirt and shorts.
And it was sunny.
And I remember thinking,"I'm so happy winter's over!"
And I felt so warm.

I woke up to my dad's snow blower.

Nightmare confirmed as a reality,
and dream confirmed as fake.

Yeah, thanks Utah.
Thanks a lot.
FOR NOTHING!!!
Geeze...

P.s. Janelle.
I like your hair.
Mind if I try it on mine? I'm just really jealous of yours.

Here is the reason why I hate January.
I get bored easily.
Like every second I'm going around thinking, "I'm so boooooored."
I'm just bored with getting up for school ridiculously early,
treking outside in -2 degrees so I don't miss the bus,
going to school and trying to not fall asleep,
coming home and staring at Pinterest until I'm like, "oh yeah, I have homework"
and by then its dinner time
and after that I do homework
and then I go to bed.

maybe, if I'm lucky, I get a nap snuck in there somewhere.

but that is mainly my routine these last couple of weeks,
maybe even months!
I just want some pizzazz, some sparks, some fireworks!
Something that makes me really happy.
Something I can look forward to.

But for now, I guess I'll live with being bored until I see the tulips starting to bloom.

Yay for spring.
Boo for winter.
P.s., my ADD can't handle being bored. So I end up doing something totally random and stupid most of the time. Whatever. It's fine.

{why is it just sooo good?}

So, remember my post of my obsessions?
Remember my last thing I said I was madly obsessed with?
And I didn't know if I could get anymore obsessed?
Well, I played another game of it over Christmas break.
And let me tell you,
I am more obsessed with it than I thought I could be.
*sigh*
I say to myself, "why? WHY??!!"
and then, after sitting there thinking why,
I come to a conclusion...
I just freakin love it.
The Legend of Zelda 8bits colors. #Zelda #8bits
so if you don't like it,
too bad.
I don't have time to hear your hates.
I'm too busy saving Hyrule.
Excuse me, while I ride on past you.

{be patient now, my friends}

School
The one word that can create utter chaos and turmoil and more stress than I can bear.
The one thing that can make me throw up the next day (literally) because I've worked myself to the bone.
To the point of exhaustion.
and now,
it's almost over.
SO CLOSE!
I'm more excited for the break more than Christmas itself.
Strange, you say?
Indeed it is, I reply to you.

but for now,  i will suffer 3 more agonizing days.
and then...
i will
be
free.

Whoa buddy. It's been a while! I need to get back in the swing of things.

So, this post, I'm really bored, so I am going to tell you things about me that I would normally be embarrassed about. But tonight I am not.

So listen well, because this is the only post you're gonna get with me going all out.

Ladies and gentlemen, this is Kayla Higgins on the Secrets Of Being a Geek.

that would be correct.

yes, I am a HUGE fan of Dr. Who
otherwise known as the Doctor
This happened only a couple of weeks ago. Maybe it was all the Pinterest pins on him that got me curious. I don't know. But what I do know is that I love this man, David Tennant, and I love the show.
I have my mom and sister come out and say just how weird I am and how weird the show is. But I don't care. I just know that this show is one of the best things ever! And I'm a lover. I'm still learning new things from this show, so I'm not exactly a fan girl-knowitall person, but just give me a few more weeks, and don't be surprised if i walk into school with red converse sneakers and a bow tie.

hpcupcakes1These are some facts that J.K.Rowling let slip in numerous interviews. Facts that tell us what all happened nineteen years later… ~ Azkaban no longer uses Dementors as guardians. ~George Weasley married Angelina Johnson and had 2 children named Fred and Roxanne. ~Harry made sure that the Wizarding world knew that Snape was a hero and on Dumbledore’s side. ~Slytherin House became more diluted and was no longer solely pureblood; however its dark reputation lingers. ~Harry lost the ability to speak Parseltongue. ~Umbridge was arrested, interrogated and imprisoned for crimes against Muggleborns. ~The Resurrection Stone is now buried in the Forbidden Forest after being pressed into the ground by a centaur’s hoof. ~ Voldemort’s curse on the DADA position at Hogwarts has been lifted. ~Viktor Krum fell in love with a woman back home in Bulgaria. ~The Death Eater’s Dark Marks eventually faded to look like a scar. It will no longer burn or hurt. ~ The Quibbler is back to publishing articles about the lunatic fringe & is appreciated for its unintentional humour. ~Members of the DA still have their coins, as they are like badges of honor. ~Neville Longbottom worked as an Auror before moving on as the Herbology professor at Hogwarts. ~The remaining Death Eaters were killed or imprisoned in Azkaban for their crimes, with the exception of the Malfoys. ~Luna Lovegood married the grandson of the Newt Scamander, author of ‘Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them’ ~Firenze survived his wounds and was welcomed back into the Centaur herd. ~Harry will never become Headmaster of Hogwarts since an academic career just isn’t him. ~Hagrid was still working at Hogwarts by 2017, at 88 years old. ~Draco Malfoy really cares about his son, Scorpius Malfoy. He is growing him up to be a better person than he was. ~Centaurs realized that “pro-human leanings were not shameful. ~Draco and Harry never became friends, but they did come to understand and appreciate each other better. ~Hermione tells Scrimgeour that she is not planning to embark on a career in Magical Law. Ironically, that’s where she ends up. ~After his death, Voldemort is forced to exist in the stunted infant-like form that Harry sees in the King’s Cross-like Limbo. ~Harry would take his family to visit Dudley’s when they were in the neighbourhood (occasions dreaded by James, Albus and Lily). ~Aberforth is still at the Hog’s Head “playing with his goats”. ~The number of Dementors have been greatly diminished because despair and degradation have been lessened in the world. ~Arthur Weasley fixed Sirius’ motorbike and gave it to Harry. ~Nineteen years after the Battle of Hogwarts, the school for witchcraft and wizardry is led by an entirely new headmaster (“McGonagall was really getting on a bit”) as well as a new Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher. That position is now as safe as the other teaching posts at Hogwarts, since Voldemort’s death broke the jinx that kept a Defense Against the Dark Arts professor from remaining for more than a year. ~Hagrid never married, although he had a relationship with a giantess. ~Kingsley Shacklebolt became the Minister of Magic after the Second Wizarding War. ~Harry will not train to be an animagus; his “energies are going to be concentrated elsewhere and he’s not going to have time to do that. ~Audrey Weasley is wife of Percy Weasley, and they both have 2 daughters, Molly and Lucy. ~In the aftermath of the war, the Order was disbanded once and for all. ~Luna has twin boys named Lorcan and Lysander with Rolf Scamander.and apparently travels the world, looking for mad creatures. ~Hermione advanced the rights of magical creatures & eradicated the old pro-pure-blood laws in the Department of Magical Law Enforcement. ~The head of the Auror Office as of 2007 is Harry Potter. ~Lavender Brown was attacked by Fenrir Greyback. Hermione saved her but she was already injured. What happened to her later on was never really told. ~Neville Longbottom’s students were impressed when he showed them his Dumbledore’s Army’s Coin. ~Harry, Ron and Neville didn’t return to Hogwarts for their 7th year. They went straight to get training as aurors and Neville went to work as an auror before becoming a Professor. ~Harry sometimes visits Hogwarts to give talks on DADA. ~Hermione is James’ godmother. ~Hermione Granger was the only member of the trio who returned to Hogwarts to complete their seventh year. ~Ron worked with George in WWW for some time and then became an Auror. ~Ginny became a professional Quidditch player for the Holyhead Harpies and become the senior Quidditch correspondent for the Daily Prophet. ~After the war, Hermione found her parents in Australia and restored their memories.

I LOVE Harry Potter.

I've loved it ever since I've seen the first movie when I was, what, 5 or 6? It was the greatest thing ever, and I've seen every movie since. My favorite book is by far the last one, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. I love the characters, plots, actors, movies, I LOVE IT ALL!! I'll quote it frequently, but honestly, nobody gets it.
Whatever. I still love it.

This is my reaction just waiting for tickets to go on sale.

Yes. I love this even more than Harry Potter.
Because not only me, but my family is fanatically in love with this movie.
We love it so much in fact, that we watch the extended edition of each movie EVERY SINGLE YEAR. and we never get bored. In fact, we just finished it last week. And it still ended amazingly. And I still cried. But can I just say how happy i was when I found out that they were making a Hobbit? And can I tell you how FREAKING EXCITED I AM THAT THE HOBBIT IS COMING OUT NEXT MONTH?!?!?!?!?
yes. I am very excited.
I love this movie and the books so much, that I can quote the entire movies. Each one. So burn.
#CaptainAmerica
JUSTICE LEAGUE And THE AVENGERS 2 To Face Off In 2015

#Avengers!!!!
Okay here is another one of my loves. I love superheros. I really do. I love DC and Marvel comic heroes. I love Avengers and The Justice League. They both melt me to the core. DC- I am an avid lover of Superman. Marvel- I love Captain America. Sing it with me ladies! They are just two of the best men in the world. Ever since I was a little kid, I imagined myself as a super hero. Wonder Woman, Supergirl, Catwoman (not exactly a super hero, but whatever). I loved to pretend that I had supernatural powers! They kept my childhood years an adventure.

And last of all, I love video games. I mean, I like way super cool video games. I'm not into the whole guns and guts games, but sometimes, there are just some games that I love, like Mario Bros or Mariokart, or other games.
But there is one game that I am obsessed with, and I love it.

Legend of Zelda

That's right.
I'm a Legend of Zelda nerd.
Get over it.
Or join me.
This is the one thing that kind of embarrasses me, because I feel like nobody I know has played this game. And anybody that does know this game says it's stupid.
But I don't.
And if you say that it does, I'll probably go all quiet, but in my head I'll be all like,"I will take my Master Sword and I will cut you."
The end.

So now you know a little more about me.
And what I like.
And what I am totally obsessed about.
I'm also obsessed with Disney, Big Bang Theory, Nancy Drew games, and Once Upon a Time.
If you ever feel like you need to talk to me about these things, I will gladly be open to discussion.
Unless you're coming to mock me.
Then go away.

OR HERE'S A CHALLENGE!!!!!!!!
post on your blog or tell me things you are obsessed about and wouldn't normally tell others.
Its loads of fun,
and it would make me feel better.
:)
